Start your walk in Icheri Sheher – the old part of the city. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvan Shahs’ Palace, (are included in the list of UNESCO monuments) Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. Continue to Highland Park that opens up a great panoramic view of Baku city. Further, you will explore 19-20th centuries architecture: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument. Then take a walk along Baku Boulevard – a promenade established in 1909 which runs parallel to Baku’s seafront. Its history goes back more than 100 years, to a time when Baku oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian shore an excellent round-up of the city tour will be a visit to the National Carpets Museum, the richest bank of Azeri carpets.
